Hi TCM users,
Currently TCM is hosted by Sun server and use its default http port 80
(it's redirected port 8001 actually).
Sun is planning to host more services (like Glossary service) on
the same server, and would like to use default port 80 for more
generic purpose on that server.
So we'd like to make such Sun hosted services home page which has
link to OOo/TCM along with other services. If you have the bookmark to
http://www.sunvirtuallab.com:8001/tcm2/opensource/tcm_login.cgi?
tcm_config=newooo
directly, you do not need to change anything, but if you have the link
to
http://www.sunvirtuallab.com/tcm2/opensource/tcm_login.cgi?
tcm_config=newooo
then you need to change that to :8001 version, or access
http://www.sunvirtuallab.com first and follow the OOo/TCM link.
Please let us know if you have any concern regarding this change.
Would virtual hosts be better. I know for example at last years
conference we had to tunnel to various services that were on non-
standard ports. Also some companies have these ports block prevent
full participation of their staff. port 80 and 443 are best.
