Having discovered the hard way that tif image files don't work very well 
in OOO, I will file some issues. Before doing that, where might I find a 
reference for what the suite is supposed to do with tifs?

Problems found (uncompressed images): 8 bit images are OK. 16 bit images 
load with a strong red colour cast. 32 bit images crash OOO.
