Race Race
Query Start End Count
Graphics: 45 39 -6
Overall: 807 767 -40
My observations:
- A lot of "issues to deal with" could not be handled by
"average QA people" for several reasons:
- Special environment needed (A11Y issues)
- Developer issues (no user scenario to verify)
- Automation issues (can be handled only by QA Automation members)
This was my observation as well - and this extremely affects the fun vs.
frustration factor :(
I picked the list of graphics issues. From the total number of 45 issues
I could only work on 6. Although I couls skip most oft the restvery
quickly, the result is not really satisfying. And for the next round,
the ratio might be even worse.
Seems, we need some way to easily vrify and close such issues - or at
least mark then, so that tese could be separated from a regular
community review.
Most of the issues were reported as code issues with no hint iven, how
to verify in UI.
What I found really helpfull was that some issues had links to a test
case. So even not being an expert I could verify the issue quite easily.
Example files arevery helpfull as well. (Not so helpfull if they point
to Sun intranet ;) )
In some cases I also found, that issue meta data (OS / Platform) had not
been set according to the comments. E.g. a problem with DirectX canvas
was reported for all plattforms / OSs while a "missing logo in Help -
about" Issue was reported for Solaris only (but it was a general issue).
We should try to improve this, as this would help to speed up the review
process (e.g. If I have no Windows at hand, I don't need to touch a
DirectX issue).
Thanks again,
André
