Maybe your problem is not that something changed in OOo between RC2 and
RC3, but something changed on your machine in the time frame between the
installations of both versions? In case you still have an RC1 or RC2
installation set you could check that for us.

bug has been introduced. I rather expect that something blocks OOo on
startup until a timeout allows it to proceed.

OTOH this is rather strange. Do you have some extensions installed?

You could enable logging in OOo. This will write some tracing data when
a document is created or loaded. With a little bit of luck we can see
between which steps the delay happens.

I don't know from memory how the enable logging, but it would be easy to
find out.

Mathias

I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent to it.
