OOo 3.4 Beta can't find Java 1.7.0-ea-b138 (the current SE7 Developer Preview
Release) in Windows XP.
It can detect and use Java JRE 6 Update 24.
OOo is installed on drive D: in D:\OOo-dev 3\ directory.
Both Java versions are installed on drive D:, and side-by-side like this:
D:\Java\jre6\
D:\Java\jre7\
Selecting OOo's Tools|Options|OOo-dev|Java loads the 1.6.0_24 version, and it
works - for instance, allowing Help searches, etc.
Java 1.7.0-ea is not listed. When I navigate to its installation directory
(D:\Java\jre7\) and select it, the following popup appears:
"The folder you selected does not contain a Java runtime environment.
Please select a different folder."
This information is based on new, clean installs of OOo and both Java jre's.
This problem might also exist in OOo 3.3.--
