Just to answer your question, would probably need more information like which version of OpenOffice.org are you writing and what operating system are you using. Copy-paste issues are usually handled by your Operating system and not by OpenOffice.org. Specially if you are copying from another program. How much are you copying, will also might make the OS slow down and or even crash the application. But we need more details about the issue.
