I would be interested in such functionality as well. In addition it would be
nice to support not only package comment files but also overview comment files
(http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.3/docs/tooldocs/solaris/javadoc.html#overviewcomment).
Like this QDox could become a standalone alternative to the proprietary
JavaDoc tool.
