Our reactive bindings on top of the C core are not *especially* high-level 
clients.  People pick the C++ or the Python binding because it's their desired 
language.  They will often find use in low-level integrations.

We might in the future have some much higher-level APIs, and then perhaps 
things would be different.  But for most of the APIs we have, I'm not sure 
there's a meaningful distinction to be made.

For me, the question of whether to have default process name and ID is 
independent of C core versus bindings.
