This patch fails to compile on Visual Studio 2012 but works OK on Visual Studio
2013.
Is the intention to make it work on older Visual Studios (2012, 2010,
2008,...)? If not then an early fail in CMake would prevent misguided attempts
to compile on those Visual Studio versions.
