[~rgodfrey], I like the ideas of defining metric names as
{{qpid_<category><statistic><suffix>}} and adding annotation meta data for a
finer tuning of the prometheus name and whether the statistic needs to be
exposed via Prometheus endpoint. We definitely should add implement it.
