Jiri Daněk updated PROTON-2323:
-------------------------------
    Description:
Python Foundation has declared Python 2.7 to be out of support. Python 3.6 or
newer is now available in all targeted platforms, including RHEL 7.

(I am creating the Jira now so I have number to write to TODO comments.)

  was:
Python 2.6 has been on life support for a long time - it's only present in
Proton because of RHEL 6 which has now gone out of support. So now is a good
time to remove the remaining awkward bits of code that only exist to support
Python 2.6.

Python 2.7 - you're next!
