The leaks are currently suppressed (done in PROTON-1575, PROTON-2134,
PROTON-2133), but nobody checked whether some of the leaks might be causing
real issues

For example, QPID-5872 might be caused by some of this. That issue is a leak in
{{pni_map_allocate}}.
