Fabrice Fontaine commented on PROTON-2355:
------------------------------------------

Sure, feel free to enhance this patch as I'm far from being an expert on cmake.
I'll wait for an upstreamable solution before sending a patch to the buildroot
mailing list.

Concerning, buildroot, yes we have autobuilders with a bunch of different
toolchains that randomly build packages such as qpid-proton:
http://autobuild.buildroot.org/?reason=qpid-proton-0.33.0.

Some of these toolchains are built from uclibc and configured without threads
support. These toolchains could be used on very-constrained embedded systems.

> Building with -DPROACTOR=none fails on:
> {code:java}
> CMake Error at c/CMakeLists.txt:481 (add_library):
>  Error evaluating generator expression:
> $<TARGET_OBJECTS:qpid-proton-proactor-objects>
> Objects of target "qpid-proton-proactor-objects" referenced but no such
>  target exists.
> {code}
> It should also be noted that libqpid-proton-cpp also assumes that a proactor
> is always available (e.g. pn_connection_wake is unconditionally used in
> ./cpp/src/connection.cpp).
