Currently, Ranger needs RDBMS for performing real-time queries on audit
records. We need to provide an option to use Solr as one of the audit
destination. This will help us in the following:
1. Eliminate RDBMS for storing Audit records
2. Enhance search capabilities using Solr indexing
3. Solr is reporting friendly. Enable faceting and other features.
4. Easy to use visualization tools like Banana for building quick dashboards
5. Solr can be scaled using SolrCloud and can also use HDFS for storing
indexes, which can give higher level of reliability of data
