From the earlier configuration info, I saw that JRMP was used.

The endpoint is a configuration component which determines the communication 
protocol.

If you want to take full advantage of River 30 you'll want to use one of the 
JERI endpoints.  JRMP was provided for backward compatibility with Jini 1.x, it 
uses java rmi.
