But with setting database.configurationType to jndi, It's normal.
I used the same jdbc settings for both jndi and jdbc:
database.jdbc.driverClass=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

database.jdbc.username=scott
database.jdbc.password=tiger

When I set database.configurationType to jdbc, the characters saving to database are abnormal. database.jdbc.connectionURL=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/roller? useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=utf-8&mysqlEncoding=utf8
