Yes, IIRC in the old days it used to do that but none of the Apache
lists I'm on now -- CXF, Roller, and JSPWiki -- do that today. I can
see arguments for both but ultimately the matter's up to Infra.

It was useful before as it confirms its been sent, and also makes it easier
to do follow up emails.
