I started with something like this a was while ago [1][2]. I've used nodejs with express to provide the compiler as a service. Today I would probably go with nodejs and restify. The client was just a quick hack, just to check out if the approach works. I am still travelling, so if somebody would like to this pick up maybe this thread is helpful [2].
