Olaf, I thought you were running the script without AIR_HOME/PLAYERGLOBAL_HOME/FLASHPLAYER_DEBUGGER.
Otherwise you have to have all 3 set properly. This was mentioned in another thread on January 9. The README talks about SWF support as a set of 3 environment variables. We had a prior thread about how to not use 11.1. Those are likely causes for failing tests. If it isn't that, I will need you to investigate. In a prior thread I explained to Yishay how to find more information about failing tests. Lists.apache.org is not working for me right now and it is very late so I can't provide links. I wish I could guess up front what information you don't know and where you would look for it and had more time to better present such information, but I'm sorry, I'm just one guy trying to write code, and doc and build scripts and be the Release Manager. I've never seen that network glitch before so I'm sorry, I wouldn't have thought about documenting how to deal with it somewhere. I don't know what environment variables you currently have set so I can't provide more help and don't know what to try locally. I have to stop working for tonight and will check in my morning to see if you are still having issues. This is the first time we are trying to release all 3 repos in one package using a Maven-first process. We need folks to be patient and help make it work. There is going to be rough spots.
