Yes, sure we had to support SWF, but that could still have been done in a
view or something.

The thing about "hover" pseudo is that you can use CSS for that one state,
but it isn't clear that you can make up your own pseudo for the other
states that Flex supports, so the temptation is to use properties for all
of the states.

Feel free to raise a ticket and even start the refactoring.
