Thanks to Jonathan for providing this patch!
The patch has been applied in
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=903378
and a Hudson build has been scheduled to deploy an initial snapshot.
@Jonathan: Could you verify that all the packages marked optional are actually
optional, i.e. you did not include anything in there that really is necessary
at runtime?
