Cant use servicemix start just after installation

When you unpack servicemix there is no data directory yet. So when you invoke
servicemix start
then you get following error
./servicemix[40]:
/var/opt/openmediation-X60/containers/instance-1/data/servicemix.pid: Cannot
create the specified file.
and start of servicemix continues. Later you invoke
servicemix stop
and get additional error
Apache ServiceMix PID file not found.
and servicemix isnt stopped.
