We are also working to incorporate the APIs as part of the OpenSocial specification as well. This is slated for the 1.1 release in November. If you would like to work on the corresponding spec definition, then you can find all the information here: http://groups.google.com/group/opensocial-and-gadgets-spec/browse_thread/thread/398dfec8dc5c463c/d79d7513ccbbc723?show_docid=d79d7513ccbbc723
So the short answer is this: In the next week or so, you'll have a working implementation in Shindig that incorporates the Open Ajax Hub 2.0. In November, you'll have an official set of APIs defined in OpenSocial that will line up with what's in Shindig. -Mark W. It's being reviewed by a handful of people at this very moment: http://codereview.appspot.com/1247044/show The IBM folks contributing it are keen to get it into the 2.0 release by the end of the week, which we're aiming to facilitate. Please do feel free to chime in on the review as well -- your input would be highly welcomed.
