Your right, running mvn clean and then mvn worked, got rid of the 
failures.  I thought I had tried that.  I am running on a Mac Intel 
running OSX 10.6.6.

With that in mind, it would be interesting to know whether running mvn
clean test from the command line fixes the issue, or if it still
occurs. If it still occurs, I guess it would be useful to know what
environment you're working on in terms of OS/architecture etc.
