Thanks Ryan,

Well we are more interested in the gadget rendering part rather than the
OpenSocial aspect. To be honest We have not tested our application ( and
gadgets ) on mobile devices extensively yet, I assume that they will work more
or less in same way. I understand that if we want more sophistication and
customization we will have to define "mobile" view for each gadget and ensure
that it is returned when the user agent is a mobile browser.

I was wondering if there are some features in the new version to make things
easier in mobile browsers, mainly in following aspect.

1. Navigation between gadget components. ( support for mobile gestures etc. )
2. Any features to make container layout mobile friendly.
3. any feature to improve performance on mobile device wrt limited real state/
bandwidth etc.

If you don’t mind I have one more question : We are still depending on Gmodule
servers to get gadget preferences, with iGoogle going off the shelf is there
any other alternative to write this functionality from scratch ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks,
Prashant

Prashant, next release will actually be 2.5 not 3.0, we changed the version
number of the next release to align with the version number of the OpenSocial
spec. There is nothing that I can think of off the top of my head that
specifically targets mobile in the next release, but that does not mean the new
features that were added won't work on a mobile device either. Is there
something in particular you were looking for with regards to mobile? As for a
timeline, we have not decided on one yet but it is a discussion we are going to
have soon.
