Hi everyone, I've created a JIRA (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SHINDIG-1905) for improving the DefaultRequestPipeline. The proposal would allow it to attempt conditional GETs by utilizing Last-Modified and Etag headers on cached but stale responses to construct If-Modified-Since and If-None-Match headers when doing requests.
I'm working on a patch that will hopefully be posted by the end of the day. Is this something anyone else is interested in? Anyone know of any reasons why this would be a bad idea? :) Thanks, -Stanton
