The master branch is active and is changing daily and I am not sure which version generated the bug. You may give the a specific tag or commit ID.
And could you please give the precise steps to generate the bug starting from a new installation of Ubuntu 16.04? including how did you install the dependencies. Because it depends on what CMAKE building options and library (e.g. swig) versions you used during the build. The combinations are too many and I can't guess which one has the bug if it was not given in the bug description. Please remember as written here ( https://github.com/apache/incubator-singa/pull/323#issuecomment-309924376): To use Python 3, it is required to have SWIG 3.0.10. It is available in Ubuntu >=17.04. For other operating systems, you may install it manually or from the Ubuntu 17.04 repository: echo "deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty universe" >> /etc/apt/sources.list apt-get update && apt-get install swig3.0 So before building, please check if running "swig -version" shows at least "SWIG Version 3.0.10". p.s. to avoid all this confusion, it may be better to build packages or pre-releases (daily or weekly for example) and refer to them. In this way, bugs can be reported against a specific build which can be checked. Bugs found in random and unsupported build scenarios should not be reported.
