The plan is to reuse the Shapefile code that Travis put in place. The
intend is not to do new development at this stage, but to propose API
before the release in order to reduce the risk of changing the API after
the release. For example the "xmin", "xmax", "ymin", "ymax", "zmin",
"zmax" fields in [1] would be an Envelope in OGC standards. The
"FeatureMap" field together with the "DefaultFeature" class may become
among the most important parts of SIS, so I would like to compare them
with the OGC Feature model (even if the plan is not to support fully OCC
feature in SIS 0.4).
