Hello all

A FOSS4G event will happen in Boston in August (http://2017.foss4g.org).
I would like to submit a talk for Apache SIS. Below is the proposed
abstract. Is there any thing that should be changed? The deadline for
submitting this abstract is Tuesday evening, in 48 hours (sorry for the
short notice):

Introduction to Apache Spatial Information System (SIS)

Apache SIS is a Java language library for developing geospatial
applications with a focus on OGC/ISO standards. The library is an
implementation of JSR-363 (units of measurement) and GeoAPI 3.0
interfaces and can be used for desktop or server applications. The
Apache SIS project started in 2013 and part of it can be seen as a
continuation of metadata and referencing services provided by GeoTools
in 2009. New features developed in Apache SIS include the ISO 19115
metadata revision published in 2014 - together with capability to get
those metadata from NetCDF, GeoTIFF and Landsat files -, ISO 19162 Well
Known Text (WKT) version 2, GML support in referencing by coordinates,
partial support of planetary Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS),
improved coordinate transformation accuracy with domain of validity
checks, Jacobian matrix usage in envelope transformations and
double-double arithmetic in a few critical matrix operations. Work is
under way for improved support of elevations as pressure measurements
and for dynamic datum.

Apache SIS correctness is partially verified by the Geospatial Integrity
of Geoscience Applications (GIGS) tests. SIS can coexist with Proj.4
behind the same GeoAPI interfaces, making easier to switch between the
two referencing engines.

SIS is a top-level Apache project ruled by the governance model in force
at the Apache Software Foundation, which is meritocratic. In an effort
to make the code more accessible, Apache SIS has an exceptionally high
comment:code ratio.
