Hello Roman and Rohit Welcome! For "Metadata for Earth Observation" task (SIS-356), one possible starting point would be to look at the documentation referenced in this email:
https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/6dbce603789d5d6afba51e5648e3c001d336bb09c935d660986f783c@%3Cdev.sis.apache.org%3E For starting, it requires more geospatial skills than Java skills (i.e. it requires to become familiar with the meaning of those metadata). Experience in the handling of geospatial data (not necessarily as a software developer) help but is not required. If you feel interested to continue, a next step would be to register to the developer mailing list (http://sis.apache.org/mail-lists.html) if not already done so you can ask questions there.
