Hello all

As announced on the geospatial mailing list [1], the joint OGC/OSGeo/ASF Code Sprint has been officially announced by OGC press release [2]. The code sprint will be from March 8 to 10 (registration closes on March 1st), is free and is open to anyone (even if not active members or contributors of OGC, OSGeo or ASF). We need to establish a list of ideas for peoples who may be interested in contributing to Apache SIS. I prepared a page at [3] with the following ideas (see that page for more information):

 * GGXF implementation
 * Visual components for Apache SIS
 * SQL frontend with Calcite for SIS data stores
 * Revamp ShapeFile reader

Please let me know if there is anything to change or other ideas to propose. I will submit a merge request to OGC next week if there is no comments. I put myself as mentor, but other mentors would be very welcome if anyone is interested.

Note: three other topics that are not SIS-specific but that I would like to mention:

 * Gridded Geodetic data eXchange Format (GGXF) implementation [4]
 * Geospatial Integrity of Geoscience Software (GIGS) implementation [5]
 * Experimental Python ⟷ Java bridge with Panama [6]

Martin
