Thanks for testing. Regarding the GDAL dependency, this is indeed a bug. Since this JAR is optional and relevant only if the local computer already has GDAL installed, the easiest fix would be to omit it from the release.

Regarding sis-embedded-data.jar compiled for Java 22, did you used the following URL for the staging repository?

   https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachesis-1063

In the email calling for a vote, the repository was 1062 and the sis-embedded-data.jar file was indeed accidentally compiled for Java 22. This mistake has been fixed the next day. I didn't cancelled the vote because those JAR files are not included in the ZIP files subject to the vote. The email notifying the change was there:
