I hope this is the right place to mention this. I'm just trying out SLF4J with a web app. I wondered why Maven2 wasn't able to use SLF4J's log4j implementation version 1.0.1 as a dependency. Discussions with Maven users at #Maven on irc.codehaus.org revealed that http://tinyurl.com/qtbtn (slf4j-log4j12-1.0.1.pom) is a version 3 POM which Maven 2 cannot use. Would it be possible to update this to a version 4 POM that is compatible with Maven 2?
