The patch looks a little confusing.
What did is deleting the shell script and just leave the slider.py
Then I rename it to slider
Tested it on Mac and Centos and it seems to work
Please test it on windows
on windows, you can invoke Python script without .py extension you have .py,
.pyw in PATHEXT environment variable
