Hi devs --
Let me volunteer to put together our report for May. Looking back at our
February report, points to raise:
* Branched for an 0.91 release (not a lot of work done on this yet --
will work on this in more earnest in the next month(s))
* Merged in Kafka app package to codebase
* Docker work phase-2 patch+design-doc SLIDER-906
* Discussed long-term goals for Slider: we identified that Apache
Hadoop's YARN project wants to own the idea of "long-lived" services
which is the primary problem that Slider was solving. The general
feeling was that we agreed that parts of Slider would make sense to pull
into Apache Hadoop YARN. There is still much more discussion to have
(have not heard back from Hadoop/YARN community on their opinions). Just
discussion at this point - no action plan set forth.
