Felix, Committers and Community. Thank you for the honor.
Originally I became interested in Jackrabbit back at 1.0 as I saw it as a far better content system that I had seen before. I embedded it into multiple versions of Sakai, an Open Source project for teaching, learning and research collaboration support for Higher Educational Institutions. Apache Sling covers a substantial portion of the use case Sakai cares about, so it made absolute sense to throw away much of the code base I had contributed to and adopt Sling. With that decision came a desire to share use cases, fix bugs and contribute a proportion of what I have taken from Apache over the years.
I am also an committer for Apache Shindig, work for the Center for Applied Research into the Application of Technology at the University of Cambridge and hope I can contribute towards the strength of Apache Sling and its community.
Thank you Ian Boston. On 9 Jul 2009, at 09:15, Felix Meschberger wrote:
Hi, Ian Boston has been active on the Sling mailing list since April 2009 and has made sustained contributions of good code in the last few months, is giving helpful help and advice and regularly participates in technical discussions. As a result, the Sling PMC voted to make Ian a committer in the Apache Sling project. Please join me in welcoming Ian! Ian, if you'd like to introduce yourself in a few words here, you're welcome to! Regards Felix
