example:

slingResponse.setBufferSize(0);
slingResponse.getOutputStream().write(123);
slingResponse.flushBuffer()

does actually bypass the buffer in ContentData, but the flushBuffer is not 
passed to the wrapped response (neither is setBufferSize())
