The resource-based implementation is kept around in the source tree but never
shipped. It was the original implementation but not really usable because it
relies on the default get/post servlets.
It makes development harder because all refactorings need to touch it as well
because of the APIs it implements. I ran into this especially with SLING-7599 .
I think it's time to drop it compeltely from the source tree.
