I see this as a path to have long term maintainable code. When APIs are
deprecated (i.e. SlingHttpServletRequest), a non-deprecated solution must be
provided.
I'm still doing some testing, cleanup and verification about the local code
changes for this one. I was planing on submitting a PR with the proposed
changes soon for review.
If you have any concerns about the proposed changes in that PR, then please
review and provide that feedback there.
