The Sling Scripting Impl contains something similar (https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-scripting-core/blob/master/src/main/java/org/apache/sling/scripting/core/impl/ServiceCache.java), can you check if it makes sense to avoid this type of duplication?
