I think having a web console plugin provided by the logging implementation
that acts like a tail on the configured log files is the best we can come
up. So you change the configuration and watch the logs files. (But even
this might not provide enough information if the logging is configured in a
way to hide the problems or not add them to the log file)

Anything else, like Felix says, is not realistic.
