Chetan Mehrotra commented on SLING-2897: ---------------------------------------- bq. The json support covers the special use case of a "headless operation". With this change it is now possible to control the logger configuration via HTTP, so you could add/edit/remove loggers using curl. We found this useful in environments where you cannot access the web console via browser. Since edit & remove requires the logger pid a json output of the current config would make it easier to get it. Makes sense. I would prefer to expose the required information as part of [Felix Inventory Support|http://felix.apache.org/documentation/subprojects/apache-felix-inventory.html] which has a json rendering mode. I have created SLING-3264 for the same. Would that work for you? > [LOG] Enhance web console plugin with edit feature > -------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SLING-2897 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-2897 > Project: Sling > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: Commons > Affects Versions: Commons Log 3.0.0 > Reporter: Bjoern Weide > Assignee: Chetan Mehrotra > Priority: Minor > Fix For: Commons Log 4.0.0 > > Attachments: org.apache.sling.commons.log.patch, > org.apache.sling.commons.log.patch > > > The current web console plugin only lists the configured loggers but links > for the actual configuration to the OSGi Configuration Manager. > It should be improved so the logging configuration can be edited in the web > console plugin directly. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.1#6144)
