Jörg Hoh created SLING-3601:
-------------------------------

Summary: base directory for logfiles should be configurable
                 Key: SLING-3601
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-3601
             Project: Sling
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Extensions
            Reporter: Jörg Hoh

When you specify a name of a logfile written by Sling logging in a relative
manner, the base directory is assumed to be the current working directory.

Would it be possible to override this behaviour by a configuration parameter,
which allows me to specifiy this directory from the outside as system property
or property specified in sling.properties file?

We have many Sling instances basically running with the same configuration, but
the log files must be placed in a different directory (per instance) than the
working directory. So instead of making all logfile names absolute I would like
to define this path once for all logfiles produced by this sling instance.
