The [Sightly performance
tests|https://github.com/apache/sling/blob/trunk/bundles/scripting/sightly/testing-content/src/main/resources/SLING-INF/apps/sightlyperf/test/]
show an almost 5 times performance degradation when running them on a Sling
8-SNAPSHOT launchpad compared to Sling 7.
A performance analysis should be performed to uncover what changes have led to
this, since both the JSP and the Sightly scripting engines seem to be affected.
