This happens in the following environment:

Apache Maven 3.2.3 (33f8c3e1027c3ddde99d3cdebad2656a31e8fdf4;
2014-08-11T22:58:10+02:00)
Maven home: /usr/local/Cellar/maven/3.2.3/libexec
Java version: 1.7.0_75, vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_75.jdk/Contents/Home/jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: UTF-8
OS name: "mac os x", version: "10.11.4", arch: "x86_64", family: "mac"

In rev. 1743378, everything works as expected.

The 2nd error is probably due to the maximum number of open file handles being
exceeded, but even after ignoring repeatedGetStatus() I still get the error
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class
java.net.ProxySelector".

If the same unit test is being executed from my IDE everything works as
expected.
So probably this is a classloading issue and Exception in thread "Thread-0"
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class
java.util.logging.LogManager
        at java.util.logging.LogManager$Cleaner.run(LogManager.java:245)
may be related. Not sure though who is actually using
java.util.logging.LogManager...

Does someone else have this problem?
Thanks,
Konrad
