Technically speaking it's not non-semver :-)

You can use qualifiers in semantic versions, as it's hinted in item #9
from https://semver.org/ .

Identifiers MUST comprise only ASCII alphanumerics and hyphen [0-9A-Za-
z-]. Identifiers MUST NOT be empty.

Which implies that such identifiers (qualifiers in Maven lingo) are OK.
