Fred, what do you have installed? I just checked back on the dates in the comments and I see that I was reproducing this bug before I installed SP2. Another data point: I modified my test server to read a file from disk so it can send approximately the same as spamd is -- approximately because I used the email as input without the spamd protocol headers. It should be doing close to what spamd is doing, except not reading the message over the tcp socket first. I don't yet have a client written to test it. I used telnet. So far I have not reproduced the problem that way.
