------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-11-02 12:56 -------
XP firewall is not enabled. Symantec Client Security is installed, but I have
tested with it disabled and it should not affect anything on localhost anyway.
Well, should is not the same as does not. Fred, what do you have installed?

I just checked back on the dates in the comments and I see that I was
reproducing this bug before I installed SP2.

Another data point: I modified my test server to read a file from disk so it can
send approximately the same as spamd is -- approximately because I used the
email as input without the spamd protocol headers. It should be doing close to
what spamd is doing, except not reading the message over the tcp socket first. I
don't yet have a client written to test it. I used telnet. So far I have not
reproduced the problem that way. My next step is to modify spamc so I can see
exactly where it is cutting off the message stream, but I am back in my 12 hour
delay window until I can back to it.
