It appears to me some .lock files are not deleted when amavisd-new is stopped.
Then (probably related), once amavisd-new is started, spamassassin is not able
to lock the auto-whitelist file, so it spins for 30 seconds on each message
trying. This does not happen every time amavisd-new is started. The defaults of
Unix nfssafe file locking and 'use_auto_whitelist 1' was used. I was unable to
reproduce this problem using flock. I was also unable to produce this problem
when use_auto_whitelist was false. In fact, with use_auto_whitelist disabled, I
was unable to get leftover bayes.lock.* files.
