This idea hasn't fully cooked up in my head, but I wanted to get a ticket open
about it as a place to throw ideas and discuss as necessary...
I think it would be really neat to receive information from spamd installations
world-wide, and generate statistics/tendencies/etc from that information.
Things like:
- how many installations of SA are there?
- where are people using SA (geography)
- how many mails per period is SA processing?
- how long on average does it take to process a single message?
- ham/spam ratio
- average message score
- what SA version are people using
- how many people use sa-update wrt number of installations?
etc.
My idea involved sending the scan information from each child back to the
parent, who would store this information until periodically it would report in
the local log and (default off) also send in a report (probably via HTTP) to us
with the same information. Related is bug 3808, btw.
