Summary: Spamassassin hangs with 100% CPU usage with 1 specific
mail
Product: Spamassassin
Version: 3.2.0
Platform: PC
OS/Version: FreeBSD
Status: NEW
Severity: critical
Priority: P5
Component: spamassassin
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'm using SpamAssassin 3.2.0 in combination with Amavisd-new 2.5.2 on FreeBSD
6.2-amd64 with 2 Opteron 246 processors.
With one specific e-mail, SpamAssassin just keeps on running at 100% CPU usage.
spamassassin -t -D < mail stops at the following line :
[28515] dbg: rules: ran body rule __NONEMPTY_BODY ======> got hit: "p"
[28515] dbg: rules: running uri tests; score so far=2.1
[28515] dbg: rules: compiled uri tests
>From there it keeps on running.
This box is doing 100K+ mails a day, so this isn't a global problem. When this
happens, the box becomes terribly slow and thus it prevents full throughput.
I also tried this on a second box running also the amd64 FreeBSD 6.2 release on
2 dual-core opterons, with the very same results. On an i386 box running SA
3.1.8 there are no problems found, but it's too early to give the blame to
FreeBSD amd64.
I'll attach the spam to this bugreport.
